Week 4

My personal experience of this collective week:

There is a lot of time pressure this week, we all feel a bit rushed, especially because we have just started to work together last week. I think a lot of interesting points are being made, but the artistic research is kind of lacking at the moment. I think I definitely work more efficiently when working alone or in smaller groups and I have noticed I am able to come up with ideas, but not amazing ones. My best ideas usually come when I'm just experimenting without any obligations. Because we are in a group and only have a short time, I don't feel the space to go ham and experiment in fear of going in a crazy other direction than the group.

Of course, this practice is also about working as a collective, autonomy as a collective. In the way I understand this, it means we, as a collective, should come to consensus, rather than take ones' idea and go with it. I feel like everyone is a bit hesitant to throw their ideas on the table, which I think is a shame. I notice it is not working the best, we do come to a consensus quite smoothly, but I feel like we stay a bit on the surface sometimes. Resulting in a nice project, but I would have liked to see it go a bit further than nice.
